Paper lucky stars are special gift of love and good luck. People fold lucky stars to wish good luck to their loved ones and friends. To receive some lucky stars is almost similar to seeing a shooting star in the night sky and making a wish. Origami lucky stars are usually presented in a small bottle as a decoration or used as a gift.
Here is how you can make your own origami lucky stars.
Cut out a strip of paper 1 cm wide and 20 cm long.
Take one strip of paper and make a loop at one end of the strip.
Gently make a loose knot.
Then tighten the knot and flatten it down.
Align the excess short end with the edge so that it looks like a small pentagon with a long tail.
Wrap the long strip around the pentagon by aligning with the edge and folding the long strip to the other side.
Keep wrapping and folding until only a short strip remains.
Tuck the remaining strip under a layer of the paper to finish off.
Push the edge of the pentagon towards the centre.
Repeat with all the sides to form a lucky star.
